Alfa Romeo Unveils Their First-Ever Electric Compact SUV, the Tonale

As more and more manufacturers move into the electric car segment, it seemed inevitable that Alfa Romeo would soon join the fray. It’s not every day you see a world-renowned luxury car manufacturer toss their hat into the electric car ring, but here we are. Earlier this month at the Geneva International Motor Show 2019, Alfa Romeo officially pulled back the curtain on the Tonale, a concept car for the company’s first-ever plug-in hybrid vehicle.

At first glance, the Tonale is everything a McKinney, Lucas, TX, and Allen driver should expect from Alfa Romeo. Luxurious, confident, and above all, state-of-the-art. Its exterior design, the company says is meant to strike a balance between honoring its rich heritage and giving its fans a glimpse at what the future holds. Long time Alfa Romero aficionados will immediately recognize the phone dial wheel design, which has long been a staple of the company’s visual aesthetic.

The interior draws inspiration from Alfa Romeo’s history, and comfortably sits four passengers. High-grade aluminum and leather materials are strategically placed everywhere you look. In addition, the infotainment system has also received a couple new features, Alfista and Paddock.

Alfista is a brand-new in-cabin app that connects its Plano or Frisco driver to Lifestyle events happening around the area under the Alfa Romeo brand. You can confirm your attendance to events and order tickets to Alfa Romeo races and further ingrain yourself into the community. The Paddock app meanwhile is your one-stop shop for all things upgrades and equipment that can be ordered directly from your vehicle.

There is no doubt that Alfa Romeo has produced something very exciting with the Tonale, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.
